New World Department Store China Limited (“NWDS” or the “Company”; Hong Kong stock code: 0825), one of the largest owners and operators of department stores in the PRC, announces today its overall same store sales growth reached 22% during the National Holiday Golden Week from 28 September to 7 October 2007, with a 5% increase in the number of customers.
Some stores launched a “Five-hour night shopping” promotion. NWDS Wuhan stores also joined hands with Project Hand to organize a charity program called “Donate RMB1 and realize your dreams” to raise funds for the construction of an elementary school.
The “Modern jewellery festival” and “We pay for your shopping” promotion also drew lots of crowds to various stores. During the promotion period, VIP members enjoyed special gifts and discounts.
