(13 April 2016 – Hong Kong) New World Department Store China Limited (“NWDS” or the “Company”; Hong Kong stock code: 825), one of the largest owners and operators of department stores in Mainland China, will organize the nationwide outdoor green activity, “Reaching Out to Nature”, for the second consecutive year from 22 April to 1 May to echo the International Mother Earth Day on 22 April and to increase public awareness on environmental issues. Customers are cordially invited to participate in a series of innovative environmental protection activities to experience a green lifestyle. Meanwhile, NWDS will pioneer the “NWDS・Reaching Out to Nature” retweeting activity on NWDS CSR Weibo to encourage people from all walks of life to care for the Earth concertedly.

NWDS organized its first nationwide outdoor green activity, “Reaching Out to Nature”, last year and received high praise from customers with the overwhelming participation of over 1,900 pax. To carry forward the cause and forge ahead into the future, NWDS stores will organize many outdoor green activities with the Artisanal spirit from 22 April to 1 May this year for their customers, including visits to farms and ecological sites, organic fruit picking and tree planting, and kite DIY and flying to enable them to get closer with nature and increase their awareness of environmental protection. Upon spending of required amount, customers or VIP members will be eligible to join the above-mentioned activities with their families and friends in discounted price to explore the mysteries of nature together. Registration will start in mid-April and further registration details will be available on posters displayed in stores.

In addition to the outdoor activities, customers are invited to visit the stores to appreciate the mini in-store ecological zone and join various indoor green activities. To align with the theme of the activity, stores will build in-store small-scale ecological farms and flower exhibitions during the activity period, to enrich the green shopping ambience. Some stores also plan to organize in-store green workshops, in which ecological experts will share tips and tricks of planting to encourage customers to practice a green lifestyle. Furthermore, many Shanghai Ba Li Chun Tian stores will give away small potted plants to customers upon spending over a certain amount to enable them to green their living environment.

During the activity period, NWDS will hold the “NWDS・Reaching Out to Nature” retweeting activity on NWDS CSR Weibo. Interested online users are only required to follow the NWDS CSR Weibo account and retweet the event feed to gain an opportunity to win exquisite prizes, including a FOREVER 27-speed mountain bike worth RMB 958 and a FUJIFILM Polaroid camera worth RMB 349.
