NWDS Garners Awards in "HKMA/TVB Awards for Marketing Excellence 2012" Again and "The 8th China Best Brand Building Case Award"

(24 October 2012 – Hong Kong) New World Department Store China Limited (“NWDS” or the “Company”; Hong Kong stock code: 825), one of the largest owners and operators of department stores in the PRC, is pleased to announce that the Company has been awarded“Citation for Excellence in Mainland Marketing” in the “HKMA/TVB Awards for Marketing Excellence 2012” once again for its“Super Stars’ Memorable Collections Exhibition” marketing campaign, after winning the same award for its rebranding program last year. And the Company's “Forever Market Pioneer” rebranding program also has garnered the Merit Award in “The 8th China Best Brand Building Case Award”, demonstrating NWDS’ innovation and efforts in the aspect of marketing and brand building is widely recognized in the industry. 

Having been organized for consecutive 27 years, the HKMA/TVB Awards for Marketing Excellence bestow honour and public recognition on individuals and organizations that have, through outstanding marketing programs, broken barriers and raised the standards of the marketing profession in Hong Kong. The selection criteria of the Awards include the philosophy, objectives, strategies, originality, effectiveness and excellence of the marketing campaign, and the Awards is highly recognized within the industry. In order to bring an unparalleled shopping experience to our customers, the Company carries an international vision and coorganized the “Super Stars’ Memorable Collections Exhibition” with Ponte 16 Resort, Macau and US Julien’s Auctions for the first time, displaying nearly 100 precious items of international superstars in the stores across five major cities in China from September to October 2011. The campaign has successfully become the talk of the town, thus receiving unanimous praise from the panel of judges. 

In 2011, the Company's “Forever Market Pioneer” rebranding program has been accredited as“Citation for Excellence in Mainland Marketing” in the HKMA/TVB Awards for Marketing Excellence, and was awarded the “2011-2012 China Outstanding Marketing Award” organized by The Economic Observer in July 2012, therefore, this is the third award presented to the  Company’s rebranding program. “The 8th China Best Brand Building Case Award” was jointly organized by a mainstream financial media in the PRC 21st Century Business Herald and the world's leading brand consulting company Interbrand, which aimed to explore cutting edge brand building strategies and recognize outstanding enterprises which have made tremendous contributions in this field. The winners were elected by a panel of judges, comprising of academic from top-tier universities like Beijing Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, and professionals from media industry. The panel of judges evaluates board-spectrum aspects of the entry, including the building, positioning, innovation, effectiveness of a brand. In view of consumers’ continuous pursuit for shopping excitement, the Company has initiated the rebranding program with brand new operating concept of “Fashion Gallery” and “Living Gallery” since September 2009. At the same time, the Company strives to enhance the hardware and software facilities at stores through store decoration upgrades and provision of differentiated products and services to further strengthen its brand image. This initiative enabled the Company to stand out from a large number of candidates.
