(25 October 2011 – Hong Kong) New World Department Store China Limited (“NWDS” or the “Company”; Hong Kong stock code: 825), one of the largest owners and operators of department stores in the PRC, announces that the Company will hold the “7 Moods of a Week─NWDS VIP Card Design Competition”, in which customers can become the Company's VIP Card designer for the first time with the winning creations to be used for the upcoming new NWDS VIP card designs. 

In order to enhance the consolidation of VIP membership, expand its VIP base and coordinate with the Company's VIP system optimization, NWDS especially plans to launch a brand new VIP card without consumption requirement. By becoming the NWDS VIP, the members can join the gift redemption program with bonus points, participate in diversified VIP activities as well as enjoying various VIP privileges offered by NWDS. In the meantime, the Company will organize the VIP card design competition to let more customers to participate and witness the Company's growth. With the theme of “7 Moods of a Week” that symbolizes different moods while shopping in NWDS everyday in a week, participants can have distinct ideas for the VIP card design, such as “ Happy”, “Exciting”, “ Touching” and “Surprising”. At the same time, the design should include NWDS rebranding icons and its slogan of “Enriching Lives. Enhancing Character” to highlight NWDS’s sprit of “Enriching Lives. Enhancing Character” and establishing a personalized living elements and attitude.    

Besides NWDS VIP card, NWDS has set up a three classes VIP system, namely Diamond, Platinum, Gold to serve its long-term loyal customers. Customers who spent a specific amount in the stores can apply the Gold VIP card, enjoying a 10% discount for merchandizes of the department stores, 5% discount for that of the supermarkets (exclude specific products) and a series of premium services. Gold VIP card members can upgrade to Platinum VIP card upon the consumption of RMB50, 000 within a year, enjoying a 12% discount for the department stores and 5% discount for the supermarkets (exclude specific products). Platinum and Gold VIP members who reached a specific amount of annual consumption and being invited by the stores can become Diamond card members, in addition to the Platinum members’ privileges, the Diamond card members can also enjoy exclusive upgraded member services. On the other hand, the Company has launched four VIP clubs to satisfy the needs of different customers, including “Smart Lady Club” that targets young females; “Perfect House Wife Club” with the focus of mothers; “Platinum VIP Club” that tailored for platinum VIP members and “Crystal High Heels Club” for trendy shoe lovers.

On 28 October 2011, the competition will officially open for applications, and the deadline is 27 November 2011. The jury will select seven winners from all entries collected from the nationwide stores, in which three entries will be offered the Gold, Silver and Bronze Award respectively whilst the remained 4 entries will be awarded the Excellence Award. Regarding the prizes, the Gold, Silver and Bronze winners will receive NWDS coupons of RMB 3,888, RMB2,888 and RMB1,888 respectively; Each of the four Excellence Award winners will be awarded RMB388 NWDS coupons. NWDS Gold or Platinum VIP member who win the game will receive an additional prize of RMB188 and RMB288 coupons respectively. The seven winning entries will become the designs of the seven different versions of NWDS VIP card. New members can make a choice according to their preferences when joining the membership.
