NWDS has been actively involved in social welfare activities and has participated in a large number of charitable events taking place in Mainland China and Hong Kong. The Group's effort has been widely endorsed by our customers and the public, and was repeatedly awarded the “Caring Company” logo.
Stores actively organized elderly and children visits during festivals to echo with the Company’s sustainability agenda of caring the community. During Mid-Autumn Festival and Double Ninth Festival, stores in Shanghai and Ningbo formed volunteer teams to visit the home for the elderly and delivered festive gifts such as moon cakes.
With the elements of arts, fashion, environmental protection and charity, nine stores of NWDS in Shanghai joined forces with China Environmental Protection Foundation to donate over a thousand new clothes to Guizhou villagers. Collaborating with Fairwhale, old clothes were rejuvenated into fashionable home deco items. A charity fashion show was conducted and additionally, a charity auction was held in April 2011 supplemented with an on-site donation.
On 21 January 2011, stores in Wuhan jointly organized the “Delivering Hope, Blessing the New Year” activity for the improvement of playground and sports facilities of Ganquan Primary School. A total of RMB110,000 was collected for the playground construction of the school.
