New World Department Store was the key sponsor for "MSF Day" for the first time in 2007. In 2008, NWDS once again supported this charitable cause and became the key sponsor for "MSF Day 2008", demonstrated our support to the organization's humanitarian work. The kick-off ceremony of the event was held at City Walk, Tsuen Wan on 20 April 2008. With the slogan of "Let's Donate a Day's Income and Volunteer for MSF", guests from different walks of life urged the public to donate a day's income to support the frontline medical relief work of MSF.

Ningbo New World Department Store and Ningbo New World Trendy Department Store have organized a visit called "Share love in Chung Yeung" to the elderly home during Chung Yeung Festival on 7 October 2008. Our staff prepared a performance to share joy with the elderly in this festival.

In anticipation of the Beijing Olympics 2008, the Group pitched in and rendered full support by organizing a series of activities under the theme of "We Are Ready" from April to July. The activities included gymnastic competition, badminton tournament, karaoke contest and standard English quiz. In addition, as a representative of Olympics volunteers, Beijing Trendy Store participated in the swear-in ceremony of "Olympics Volunteering by Beijing Business Services" organized by Beijing Bureau of Commerce on 26 June, pledging municipal service for the Olympic Games along with other volunteers.

Amblyopia, a common ailment around the world, afflicted over 10 million children in China. NWDS jointly organized “Bright Future Action- A New World for Children with Amblyopia” with China Children and Teenagers’ Fund to extend this charity project from Hong Kong to cities in Mainland China. The year-long project programme kicked off on 16 November 2007 at Beijing’s Great Hall of the People. All NWDS stores served as activity platforms for promotion and dissemination of knowledge on amblyopia. Donation boxes were placed in store to raise fund for needy children.
